It's just all about character. Either you have it or you do not. I like to think the personal, one-on-one aspect of wrestling builds character, but we all know that there are individuals, in all walks of life, where its all about "winning" however you define that.

As an official, if the situation seems appropriate, I may remind the coach that his injured wrestler always has the option of defaulting the match at any time rather than taking the win. More than half the time (and there haven't been many to begin with) the coach and kid visit and decide they aren't going to take the victory by that method.
