I was looking at some of the 8U brackets in different Sub Districts, and I see a few 6U kids with the #1 seed. After looking at their track wrestling it appears most of them only wrestled 6U or novice tournaments this year. I was thinking that the seeding criteria said that 8U kids would be seeded above 6U.am I correct in my thinking?

It's possible the 6U could have head-to-head criteria over an 8U. I know several 6U that wrestled 8U as well. I saw this in D1 anyway.

If the best kid(s) in the bracket are 8u, then it won't make any difference what seed the 6u's get, unless one side of the bracket is heavily stacked with all 6u and the other side with 8u, which I doubt is the case. If 6u's are knocking out 8u because 6u's are getting better seeds, then the 8u's don't deserve to advance anyway.

I've also seen where kids are listed as AA State placer and they are in HS, they haven't placed at State since 8u!
