Ryan Welcome to Ks and good luck. I am not from JC but saw them wrestle twice last year. They finished 10th in the 21 team Basehor tourney and not positive but around 5th or 6th in the 10 team Junction City tourney. These tourneys are two of the toughest in the state though and I recall JC did pretty well in the Regional.
AS for the 125 class JC had a Sr Ryan Brocksmith last year who had a slightly below .500 record when I saw him. At 119 they had no entry in the JC tourney and Kenny Wayland at Basehor. His record was 0-0 and class was not listed on the program but another kid Luis Legretta actually weighed in but did not win a match.
In general Junction City looks to be toughest in the upper weights.

Ryan If you are looking at state competition in 6A, keep your eye on Emporia. Going just from the state brackets, they have the best returning 119 Marcus Herrera and the best returning 125 Tyler Nelson. Wichita Campus has the best returning 112 Josh Baldridge.

ok just becuase they won state doesn't make them the best. both herrera and baldridge's victory's were once in a lifetime victorys. herrera will also probably be at 135 next year.

seth you're right winning state doesn't make them the best, just the best in Kansas 6a .as for once in a lifetime victories makes me wonder what planet you're from .anyone who knows Kansas wrestling knows Herrera and Baldridge are baaad boys folkstyle, freestyle, and greco .wrestling once in a lifetime matches seems to be the norm for guys who work that hard

Certainly how you did last team is no guarantee of how will do next time. However, doing well in the pressure of the high school tournament is the only measure that really matters.
