I was not there but I heard first hand that many of the table workers were not prepared to do their job and some "may have been using their cell phones during wrestling". Cell phones need to be banned from the tables and table workers have to be competent and focused.
I agree with you 100% on this Will. Cell phones have become a huge distraction. Many people just can't function without them. I predict that if things don't change, twenty years from now we will become known as the bent neck society.
The other reality, even from a seasoned vet of the sport, it is not an easy task to be scoring from the scorers table for a day long tournament. You have to be paying attention, paying keen attention for hours on end. I experienced this at our League Tournament a few years back and after a long day you start to drift a little at times. You don't need another distraction, like a cell phone, to really set you adrift.
