No wonder kids state is weak at HS level.

What does this event or Metro have to do with kids state? HS kids don't wrestle for another week.

Another week? Their season is over. State is done. No "Throw down", so now you put together your own thing? Used to be at kids state, you, saw some of the best. But pulling off all these, Metro classic, and Battle of the Bad?

Just feel you're looking for a way out.

Funny to me it's ALL east ks clubs.
Why not invite, central ks kids/HS to participate.

Maybe I miss understood.... They can still wrestle kids state was all I was saying, regardless of these 2 events (that I have nothing to do with).

My son is a senior and the past few years we haven't seen anything close to the best of the best in the high school division at kids state. We don't know where they all went or if we could've beat them. We signed up for the Throw down before high school state and planned on going no matter what happened at high school state. We went to the battle of the bad and did good. Most aren't looking for a way out ,just looking for competition. Win or lose , my kid just loves competing!

The concept sounds good to me. I hope it gets traction. Post season meets are fine. Likely the kids are tired of long arduous tournaments, but duals offer good competition and different kids can be used by competing groups at the same weight classes.

Arkansas took it on the chin pretty good at this dual, but they have some kids who can really compete. Cash Jones was a state champ this year at 106, and I coached him for the previous 4 years. It is a slow process, but the talent is getting better.
