That makes zero sense. You had six guys place at that tournament that are not likely to place at the 6A state tournament. The other teams champions will likely place very high at state. You get that part, right?

I have ranked the weights six deep. Those ranked third through sixth have "placed out the back side". At the end of the tournament, those wrestlers that have placed, score points for their placing. So you see, it actually DOES work in my favor to go by how many wrestlers are ranked individually. You get the team scoring part, right?

Having said all that, the Colts certainly have the talent to rise up as the season goes on. It would not surprise me if they do place much higher as a team at state. It's just as of last weeks ranking, they had no direct criteria to move them higher.

So, think this through. The top six placers at state score the majority of points for their team. I also add additional points for non placers that will likely score. Look at each weight class and post on this thread, or call me if you have any criteria that would change the rankings.
