As a parent of young boys who wrestle, I have no problem with them meeting up with a girl. However, my oldest boy is about to enter high school. I do have a problem when he wrestles a girl. As a mother, I am very uncomfortable watching him do some moves to a girl that he does to males. I also have seen what happens to him during and after a match. If he wins, his friends will say "well, you wrestled a girl what do you expect?" If he loses, his friends will say "Ha Ha Ha, you lost to a girl!" Is it fair? Is it right?, no but that is society. I have taught him to respect girls and that he there are boundaries in what he should "touch" and not "touch" on a girl unless he is in a very serious relationship.
I strongly believe that girls who want to wrestle should get a chance and would like to see more do so. That way, they will have their own league and this will no longer be a problem. By the way, it is okay for girls to join boy teams (football and wrestling) but not okay for a boy to join a girls team (volleyball, softball, ect.) Why the difference?
