The quickest that I ever coached was Jake Earle at Goddard and Kelvin Patterson at Wichita Southeast. Obviously, speed played a big part in their success as we all know, "speed kills". Earle was a two-timer and Patterson placed twice but did not wrestle prior to high school, both beat alot of good kids with speed. Michael Bradley of W.West and Dusty May of Derby were very speedy as well and I had the opportunity to watch Earle wrestle May and Bradley as well as both against Bunch in fantastic matches with great action. Larry Perez of Topeka was very quick and had a couple of fast paced matches with Patterson. The quickest that I ever watched or wrestled was John Smith.

Another vote from an old timer for Quickest:

Henry Crosby--185 pounds; Garden City High School; 1970 & 71. The guy was like trying to catch lightning in a bottle!
