I've had the pleasure of sitting in the corner of several great matches over the years and watched many more from the early 60's on. The Drake Canfield match which was mentioned earlier was a great one to watch. More of a chess match than a battle, but exciting non the less. My all time favorite was at the 1975 State semi-finals between Beloits David Gantenbein and my yourger brother David Alley who wrestled for Douglass. I beleive they both entered the match undefeated and both figured this was, in reality, the finals. The match was constant motion with points being scored in multiples. Both wrestlers scored from various situations and each placed their opponent on their back. Alley narrowly escaped with a last second reversal and I believe it was an 18-17 match. I remember Ron Bauman the official stating it was one of his best matches to ever watch.
