Once again, the 5A KC regional is terribly weak. KC-Turner is the only team ranked in the top 10. That is a huge advantage. Not only will they be able to send a lot of wrestlers to state, they will all place high, putting them up against weaker wrestlers from other regionals in the early rounds at state. We all know this system will never change but for the sake of complaining, I bring it up. Let's hear what you think.

I forgot to point out that the other KC area regional is just as bad with only the sixth and eighth ranked teams in the state there.

Ya, what are Turners chances of sending everyone? Cause that would be a huge boost for them at state.

I don't know about who is participating in this regional, but there is a very intriguing match up at 171. Malloy has beaten everybody on the year, except Steinmetz. If all goes as planned they will duke it out in the finals. However, I understand that Harmon has a fairly decent 171 lber as well, maybe there is an upset brewing.

This sounds so exciting! I wish I could be there and see how it all finishes. Give me a serious break. I know Turner is a good team and will probably win this thing hands down but my goodness how boring will the area regionals be. Somebody needs to take a look and see what they can do about this crappy wrestling.

Shawnee Heights will be tough as well as my school Seaman High. We will probably be the only schools giving Turner a hard time.

I think that is a much better regional than it was last year. Harmon, Sumner, and Bishop Miege all moved south, with teams like Topeka Seaman, Shawnee Heights and Topkea Highland Park in those spots. Turner is by far the best, Shawnee Heights and Topeka Seaman are also pretty good. Bonner Springs is decent, Washington has a few good kids, and Highland Park are much improved. Wyandotte and Schlagle seem to be the really weak links, though Wyandotte will probably get about 5 wrestlers through.

I find it funny how individuals can say they know who is going to win a tournament, be it a wrestler or a team, just by looking at the rankings. I believe that not all coaches summit information to the rankers therefore not all of the rankings can be correct. At this time of the year I really think its time to let all the actions speak for themselves. Yes Turner might have a good team, but that doesn't mean they should walk away with this regional. I strongly think there will be some good matches at this regional. And don't forget every dog has his day.

Be that as it may, Turner will win this tournament. I would be willing to bet my next semester of college tuition on it. They are too solid at too many weight classes to be challenged. Seaman 2nd, Shawnee Heights 3rd. (Sorry Birds, I hope you can prove me wrong!)
