ok time to straighten things up....
Hovepen...great contributor to our sport but...it's UCO not OCU...same town, different college!
Just for Fun...i'm going to veto and put Lane ahead of Tapler for 197...if he can make weight!
Curious all on parties...who do you have on your second team?

The first team was very hard to pick out especially in the lower weights. So here I go for a try at a second team all kansas college prospects. That would be some abbreviation STAKP? 125 Chris Saferite 133 Shawn Bunch 141 Christian Alt 149 Kyle Robison 157 Josh Lawrenz 165 Jacob Klein 174 Gaylen Taylor 184 Jordan Nichols 197 Aaron Lane HWT Andrew Ubben

K-State would be great for a program. It would be ideal to have a Big 12 Kansas college wrestling program. The Big 12 is one of the best college wrestling conferences even though they do not have many schools with programs. I wonder if KSU is too much football and KU too much basketball for either of them to loosen up their finances to make room for wrestling.
Maybe Wichita State would be the better option for a Division 1 wrestling school in Kansas. There is sure some strong wrestling in that area and it could probably draw well from Oklahoma too.

Westfahl I know you're smart and just missed this but he has Maynes on the first team and Saferite on the second team....Alt wrestled 149 this year for UNO, but usually wrestles 141 (and will probably next year)

Like I said before the first team was a tough choice especially at the lower weights. I have watched both Maynes and Saferite wrestle in college and high school. I have not seen either wrestle this year (Saferite wrestling in open tournys). I do believe that 125 and 133 would be the toughest weight to choose a first and second wrestler. You have Bunch, West, Biddle, and Abbey who could all could make a case. Saferite has beaten Dustin May (4x champion) on a regular basis so you can not rule Saferite out of anything just because he wrestles DII and is not a at least a 3x champion.

Actually I think I could safely rule Saferight out of any match with Bo Maines. Maines looked like an animal at the Big 12 Tourney and man that is a whole new ballgame compared to D2

Manes is currently ranked 8th inthe nation, won the big 12 and has wins over three of the kids in front of him. I believe he was a national junior champ and is about 24 and 3 this year. That aint all bad ya'll

At a 141lbs.Bryan Miller from Colby Community College/Oberlin High School wouldn't hurt anybodys team either. Two time Junior College All American, runner up this year, and a very good person outside the mat also.
