I think manhattan would do good against Hoxie in a dual. Duals are completely different then tournament format. Also i think Clay Center would make it very close. Just by the way we line up in weights. 103-H 6 112-C 6 119-H 12 125-C 9 130-H 18 135-C 12 140-C 18 145-C 21 152-C 24 160-C 27 171-C 30 189-H 21 215-H 24 275-C 33 Thats clay center winning 33-24, and manhattan beat us bad in a dual so i think they could beat them too

Interesting rationale. Granted, tournament results are not always indicitive of who has the best dual team. But on the other hand, you can't say that Manhattan would beat Hoxie just because Manhattan beat Clay Center. Clay Center may match up with Hoxie better than Manhattan would. Looking at the lineups, with a healthy Manhattan team and a healthy Hoxie, it would be a very close dual. Too bad we won't see it played out.

Hoxie and Manhattan met in six head-to-head matches at Beloit.
103 Bingham M dec Farber 9-2 119 Baker H by fall over Potter 145 Schamberger H dec Johnson 4-3 160 Campbell H dec Bunker 5-1 189 Hill M dec Cooper 4-2 215 Jennings maj dec Pratt 16-7 Hoxie was open at 275
So at that point it would have been Manhattan 16 Hoxie 10
112 Woodford M placed 3rd Schamberger H placed 5th 125 Spillman H placed 1st Retta M placed 5th 130 Gilliland H placed 1st Miller M DNP 135 Schippers H placed 3rd Schilling M DNP 140 Schippers H placed 3rd Brumbaugh M DNP 152 Johnson M placed 2nd Lewis H DNP 171 Shipley H placed 6th Parker M DNP
Hoxie finished higher in 5 of the remaining 7 weights. It appears as though Hoxie matches up pretty well against Manhattan's line-up - but without head-to-head match ups who knows.
Hoxie and Clay Center
103 Farber H placed 2nd Gile CC DNP 112 Caldwell CC dec Schamberger 2-0 119 Baker H placed 3rd CC - Open 125 Spillman H dec Close 4-3 130 Gilliland H placed 1st Kolterman CC DNP 135 Pruser CC dec Schippers 2-1 140 Grater CC placed 1st Schippers H placed 3rd 145 Schamberger H pinned Browing CC 152 Boyer CC placed 5th Lewis H DNP 160 Corral CC dec Campbell 11-5 171 Marrs CC placed 1st Shipley H placed 6th 189 Cooper H placed 4th Carpenter CC DNP 215 Pratt H placed 4th Stevens CC DNP 275 Weller CC placed 5th Hoxie Open
I feel Clay Center's strengths match-up better with Hoxie than Manhattan's do - even though Manhattan beat Clay Center in their dual.
Based on the Beloit line-ups it appears - and assuming (big assumption!) similar results - Hoxie and Clay Center may come down to bonus points earned.
kswrestler101 had Clay Center winning at 125 and that would be a tough one every time out - as would 135 and 140 - but Spillman beat Close in the finals at Beloit at 125. He also had Hoxie losing at 145, but Schamberger pinned them there in the head-to-head match-up at Beloit. That would equate to a pretty big team point swing. Would also have to question the fall pick at 140. Grater is tough, but Schippers and Morris are always close and Morris and Grater have gone to sudden victory twice - seem pretty evenly matched. 112 wrestled with Caldwell winning 2-0. kswrestler 101 picked a fall there.
Only thing for certain is that Hoxie vs. Clay Center and Hoxie vs. Manhattan would be a great ones!
These what-ifs are pretty fun. Too bad we won't see them go for real.

I think a dual with Hoxie would be great. It would be crazy-intense, especially if there was a double dual with Manhattan/Hoxie/Clay Center. (As long as I'm dreaming, I'd like a pony.)
So now it appears as if we need not only a dual state AND a grand state, but a dual-grand state. When can we get that proposed to KSHSAA? Mr. Brown, you want to get started on that one?
