My senior year the exact same thing happend to me, in double over time i stood up and turned around into the other wrestler and we were head to head in the nuteral position with about 2 seconds left. Thinking i had the escape i didnt bother making complete seperation and the ref never gave me the point and i lost the match. Looking back its not a huge deal but when you are on your feet facing the guy you and the people in your stands arent very happy when you dont get the point.

Igrla: One thing as sour as old milk is the title of this post. There are many cases when you do not get an escape when facing your opponent. i.e., opponent has a front headlock..no espcape. Opponent has his arm wrapped around back and you have and overhook/whizzer from standing on on knees..no escape.

I said it once and I'll say it again, CONGRATULATIONS to both boys for keeping their self-respect, dignity and holding their heads high. Both have probably felt cheated on more than one occasion and kudos to the parents of both boys for raising such respectful young men!

Which begs the question. Are you a proud mom of a wrestler or a proud wrestler's mom?
