Your thoughts are admirable Matt, and im sorry you feel the way you do, but nothing is really yours until you earn it. In theory and in practice jake had the talent and the heart to win a state title but he did not. That title was never his to lose becuase of the other talents in that bracket. It is unfortunate that only one person in a weight can be champion but thats how it is. My only advice to Jake is to keep his head up and realise that there are bigger and better things in life than winning a state title. In fact I find it more fullfilling to be coach than to sit around wondering why I dind't win the title my Junior year when clarly I should have. It takes class and character to come to that realization and I know Jake has both. As his brother you should support him on this and help him more on to the next phase of his life, if this includes college wrestling than that is cool. I remember seeing your disappointment at state too and I know you have bounced back regardless of how a match was decided. Jake will be okay, so let him get that way.
