head to head is supposed to be the #1 criteria. if there are three kids with a split or two kids that have wrestled more than once you have to look to the next criteria. This often gets to be the heart of some heated meetings with each coach pushing for an edge, who won last etc. The next thing is record among common opponent and sometimes you have more than one common opponent and can have different results. When it gets down to record it is supposed to be record against acknowledged strong competition. You will always see a few kids around the state with great records but have met poor competition, and some kids with several losses all to great opponents. It is never fool proof, but hopefully it doesn't get distorted too bad.
