Let me say if Russell has an impact I'll be just as shocked as many of you, especially with them going 4a. I went to regionals my freshman year (1995) at Russell when they were still there and it was LOADED with teams. Scott City, Concordia (that year's state Champs), Ellsworth (pretty solid 4a at the time) along with Abilene, Clay Center, I believe Colby and Goodland were there too. Someone help me out, I know it was pretty solid.

Scott City only lost 4 seniors last year....so with a pretty good chance of taking 13 or 14 to state again this year this year we should be pretty good bc 4 of them are returning state placers

What about Brett Delich where is he going to school and what weight do you think he will be at. Nathan is an 8th grader and will be at Derby and I think Trent is home-schooling this year and am not certain as to the school he will end up going to.

The beavers (Scott City) are going to be respectable, with several of the placers from last year back. I think they will have to step up and do it differently than they did last year though, Because If nothing has changed in the way the Regionals are set up they will be at Goodland this year. It is going to be very hard to qualify as many there as they did last year at Andale. That regional made a good showing at state last year, but it wasn't as deep as Goodland will be this year if it is drawn up as it was two seasons ago. So Scott City is going to have to produce more front side effort, as I don't see that it will be likely to qualify a whole team through Goodland. I would think with a lot of their very young guys improving, and with the addition of Guy Miller in the mix, they may be capable of that, but I think that is what they will have to do.

"ANY wrestler can be beat on any given day." The Russell Broncos have fought a long and hard battle to build up the wrestling team. Finally now they are to the point of having kids that wrestled in kids club, now are coming in as freshman! Alot more to come in the future. Best of luck to each and everyone of the Russell Bronco Wrestlers!

The thing that will be challenging for Russell is they will probably end up in a loaded regional, but then again you never know...look how far west Goodland and Colby are, yet they ended up in a regional that included Abilene, when I believe Scott City is actually closer. I think Russell would benefit being in a "weaker" regional if they were to have success this season with the youth on their team.
