Wow, 3A - 145 could be intereasting?

Johnson, Pyle, Drennan

Who would win that if they were all there?

Throw in an Engelbert from Beloit and possibly a Schippers from Hoxie and - WOW! There will be no margin for error in that bracket.

Here another good one. 5A 119 with Knox, Baldrige, and Gardner. That will be a dog fight.

I doubt Pyle will be 145. When I saw his weight on the football roster (don't remember exactly what it was) I thought he would be back at 140.
Also I expect DelToro to shine over Kimzey and Grant. DelToro is very inexperienced but improving quickly, not to mention he is more physical.

Augusta, Campus and West went to 5A--who do they bring to the mix in 5A?

What are the odds that Pyle will choose what ever weight Drennan is at this year (just as Drennan did a year ago)? After all, the state tournament series is tied at 1-1.

Sabetha has quite a number of varsity kids back just bigger than him. I believe the team picture probably puts him at 140. I am sure Pyle hasn't given it much thought yet. He is the go to guy in the backfield of the #2 ranked football team. Right now he is concentrating on winning a title of another kind. Pyle hasn't grown much since a freshman. He was 135 then and easily could have been last year while Drennan has been growing every year. I think Pyle will not give Drennan any thought when he chooses his weight. He will think of what is best for Sabetha.

I agree 5A 119 just got a lot tougher with Bladridge and Knox. But don't forget about Brown from Carroll who got third last year behind only Schwartz and Gardner.
How about 103 in 5A. Madden from Liberal, Deshazer from West, Addock from Goddard, Kastor from Carroll, Elliot from Campus, Crumbliss from Ark City, and that is assuming Harding from Winfield moves up.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Baldridge at 125. I know he was plannin on getting bigger for football. Knox does add something good to 119 though. Also...look for Madden and Adcock both to move up to 112. I would say Deshazer is the one to beat at 103 next year

Don't confuse them with football. They are different.

fanatic not trying to bad mouth you but i disagree about Pyle not wanting to be in the same weight as Drennan. Just think about it if you had the chance to be a 4 time state champ, and somebody stopped you wouldn't you if you had the chance seek a little revenge or redemption i know i would. just my thoughts i hope pyle, drennan, and johnson are all in the same weight, it would be great for the sport.

I did not say Pyle did not want to be in the same weight. I said Pyle will do what is best for Sabetha and I do not believe it will be because of what any other kid says or does. I do firmly believe Pyle will be smaller than Drennan based upon their growth history. One other thing this is my opinion. I am not speaking for Pyle or Sabetha and I am pretty sure they would not ask me to.

fanatic,
i think you are missing my point. what iam trying to say is that i am sur pyle thinks about drennans weight. i am positive and you could poll kids across the state, if they where in pyle situation if they would want to get revenge. and i think they would if you don't than that is cool cause that is what i was asking for you obersvation, so thanks for you reply

Being somewhat familiar with Pyle, I am sure he would like to beat Drennan in a rubber match. I also know he is a competitor and likes big matches. I do not think though that revenge is a thing for Pyle. He is pretty mature and respectful of others
