I have seen several comments about travel costs on other posts. Joe Keeler AD at Basehor-Linwood told me they are going to provide lodging for teams next year to cut down on costs for teams traveling. They plan to use classrooms for make shift sleeping quarters for teams deisring to do so.

THIS MAY BECOME A SERIOUS ISSUE IF ADMINISTRATION THINKS THIS WILL WORK. HOW COULD YOU GET A GOOD NIGHTS REST ON A COT OR THE FLOOR? THIS WOULD ONLY HURT ONE'S PERFORMANCE AT A TWO OR THREE DAY TOURNEY. IF THE SCHOOL THINKS THIS WILL SAVE SOME MONEY WE MAY SEE A LOT MORE OF THIS. ANY COMMENTS?

I THINK FOR ONE THING MAYBE YOU SHOULD TYPE IN NORMAL LETTERS, INSTEAD OF YELLING AT US IN ALL CAPS.
As far as sleeping at the school goes, I don't think it would be much of a problem. A lot of guys sleep on the floor at hotels for 2 days tournaments, and it doesn't seem to affect performance too much. If it allows a team to go to a certain tournament, then I say by all means do it.
Plus, I sleep in school all the time. I've never had a problem with it.

Do you think school administration would trust a wrestling team in a school overnight? Not likely where I'm from...they don't even trust teachers in there unsupervised!

I was a 1973 graduate from Salina South and we used to stay in Dodge City's gym every time we went there. I know times are changing, but it seems reasonable to me.

I know a coach from out west who told me his team use to do this a lot. Also, anyone who has been around the Basehor AD and tourney knows it will work if they do it.
