wrestlersmom2004 I am not trying to say bad things about your question so please do not get upset. 8 and under is no time to try to scout other kids. Wait till they are at least 12. The kids at this age 75% of the time are not very consistent. Some that win will have strength or speed. As some of the others learn more you will know who the better ones are. Kind of hard to explain on here what I am saying. It's just kind of goofy to scout 8 year olds. I help out Jr. High kids. Any time you tell a kids, "Hey be careful this kids is good." They freak out and wrestle bad. Don't start mental games this young. If your kid learns the basics better than most kids he will win. When I wrestled in college I saw that the matches were slower and they just did basic moves.

TCARMONA-
JUST A NOTE TO LET YOU KNOW THAT WE ARE NOT TRYING TO SCOUT ANYONE. MY SON WAS ASKING ABOUT KIDS HIS AGE WRESTLING AND WHO HE WOULD POSSIBLY WRESTLING. ALTHOUGH HE IS ONLY 8 YEARS OLD HE HAS BECOME VERY COMPETETIVE IN HIS WRESTLING THIS WAS HIS OWN DOING WE DONT PUSH OUR CHILDREN TO DO ANYTHING....HE IS THE ONE THAT WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE KIDS SO HE COULD WATCH THEM AS THEY WRESTLED TO SEE WHAT MOVES THEY USE THE MOST AND WHICH MOVES HE NEEDED TO WORK ON TO COUNTERACT THE MOVES... YOU ARE VERY WRONG WHEN YOU SAY KIDS THAT AGE ONLY KNOWS BASIC SKILLS AND THEY MOVE SLOW TRY WATCHING SOME OF THE KIDS AT 8U THEY CAN MOVE AS FAST AS THE OLDER BOYS...AND OUR CLUB TEACHES OUR BOYS AND GIRLS ADVANCED MOVES IF THEY ARE WILLING TO WORK AT IT AND WANT TO STRIVE....AND MY SON HAPPENS TO BE ONE OF THEM.... AND AS FAR AS THE MIND GAMES I DONT PLAY THEM WITH HIM...I DONT TELL HIM WHICH KIDS ARE TOUGHER THEN HIM OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT....MY SOS PSYCHS HIMSELF UP FOR HIS MATCHES AND HE HAS LEARNED THIS FROM WATCHING AND WORKING WITH THE OLDER BOYS IN HIS CLUB AND THIS IS BECAUSE HE LOOKS UP TO THEM AND WANTS TO BE LIKE THEM AND HE IS DOING THIS ON HIS OWN. SO IF HE ASKS ME OR HIS DAD WHICH KIDS TO WATCH FOR OR WHICH KIDS MIGHT BE A LITTLE MORE DIFFICULT FOR HIM TO WRESTLE THEN I AM GOING TO DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO FIND OUT FOR HIM... I SUPPORT ALL OF MY CHILDREN IN EVERYTHING THEY DO AND IF THEY FALL IN LOVE WITH A SPORT AS MY SON HAS WITH WRESTLING THEN I DONT FEEL LIKE I AM DOING ANYTHING WRONG BY ASKING A SIMPLE QUESTION.

fyi wrestlersmom2004- writing in all capital letters on talk forums means "angry shouting". I'm sure that was not your intent.

Wrestling Mom. I think you got to excited when you read my post. I did not say that the kids just do basic move and are slow. I have seen a lot of wrestling from kids club up to DI and DII college kids. I said College matches are slower paced, not kids. If you just follow the bracket in the order it goes at these trnys you will see all of the kids in the bracket wrestle. What I said about basic moves is if they know them very well they can go far. As far as the person saying that you talked in all caps it really did come off like that because they way that you state your opions in a defensive way.

Watch for Landon Wood at 58 lbs. And Caysean Campbell or Marco Perez at 61 lbs. Any of the 3 could be at 58 for state.
