Dingbat actually you have it backwards. In 5A and 6A where there are 32 teams with about 20 of them having a kid capable of placing at state (84 medals) you can see those 20 teams would average about 4 placers a piece just to be average. In 4A there are 59 wrestling schools and there are an awful lot probably 45 teams or so who have at least one kid capable of placing at state. You can see that average for this group would be 2 kids or less. It is what makes 4A special and it is why it is easier to win 4A with less kids, The balance of power is spread out. 3-2-1 has even more 75-80 teams but lots of them are beginning programs or lack numbers (although I have seen several 4A, 5A and 6A programs who have too many open weights too)
