Norton has a talented bunch wrestlers but their crowd leaves something to be desired. I can't believe the way they boo other wrestlers--whatever happened to sportsmanship???? And after seeing Bill Johnson's son in front of the awards stands booing the Beloit boy who beat Lance Roe I see it as something that will go on for years to come. I'm not trying to take anything away from Norton because they have a very talented group of young men. I have followed and cheered for several of these young men since they were in the kids program. I hope the Norton crowd can get themselves together and not be so negative to their opponents--they are doing their team an injustice.

are you referencing the behavior of a 5 year old child? on the behavior of the numerous norton fans?!(that sounds pretty childish) and in defense of the norton crowd, besides from tracy jordans "injury" following the potentially dangerous call, the norton fans were not booing wrestlers, but booing calls that were made. (not an uncommon occurrence in highschool wrestling) as far as mr. Johnsons son goes, mr johnson was probably a little busy coaching and running a tournament or else that would have been provented as mr. johnson has always been known as a man of character how merciless of you to pick on the behaviour of a wrestling coaches small child!... and about the crowd: maybee you arnt used to the scheer volume of fans that were there and customarily follow norton all over the state. Taking away from their team!? Many, including myself would argue that norton is just about the most hardcore unwavering wrestling fans in state classes when it comes to SUPPORTING their wrestlers ninny!

all rediuclous and slanderous comments asside, lets look at nortons undefeated tourney reccord a reccord that has just widened the gap between themselves and hoxie by a whopping 25 pts with out the use of sean lauer 215 (clay center invitationl champ) luke phanninsteil 125 (6 ranked in state) and clay madden 112 (returning state champ all of whom are expected to be back by regionals. Can the 100 pt gap from last years state tourney be closed? Will norton be able tho overtake hoxie at state?

bigkneepads#4 I have been around wresling long enough to know that it is common practice to boo an officials call. I do it all the time. But when the match is over and a wrestler gets his arm raised and you actually hear boos over cheers that is dishearting. That did happen several times last night. And as for me attacking the behavior of a five year old child- sorry. When you have four boys on an awards stand, they each worked hard to get there and I don't think they should be ridiculed by a five year old or a fifty year old-- but that's just my opinion.

bigkneepads#4 i dont know what "injury" is supose to mean. Do u think he would fake it?!?! i wrestle with tracy and i know he wouldnt fake an injury cause of a close match and also in practice it hurts him a lot too. If u didnt know he hurt it during football. It was also a great match and i hope they have more matches like that in the future.

Congrats to Norton on a great tournament. Broeckleman, Black and Harding really stepped it up in Clay's absence. Nice tournament. I expected them to likely win this one, but didn't think it would be by 25 points - was guessing 5-10.
Was initially surprised to see Scott City finish further back than I had anticipated, but then noticed Conine (130), Rosin (135), Huck (171) and Miller (215) were all absent from the final placewinners. Did those individuals have bad outings or were some absent from Scott City's line-up?
How about Wright from Beloit, did he compete?

Les Brown, Yes Write--Beloit did compete. He lost to Rees McKinney Scott City(14-2 record) 2nd in the state at 135 last year and to Justin Lemmer Cozad(11-1 record) 4th at 125 last year) Did not win a match. Tough bracket.

Les,,
Conine, Rosin, & Miller from Scott City did not compete.
Huck won his first match against Jones of Smith Center, but then lost in the semis against Britt of Cozad and then in cons semis to Homeier of Russell.
Scott's wrestler at 215 who was in for Miller , (Lucas Fox), finsihed second to Horinek of Atwood.

It is our policy in Norton to not make any comments on Injuries on this forum. So what you read on here is coming from someone that is not very closely associated with our program, and should be taken with a "grain of salt".

hey Les, scott city had 5 wrestlers out. it was Logan Drieling (119), Tanner Stucky (125), Zach Conine, 2x state qualifier (130), Aaron Rosin, soph. w/ 12-3 record with only losses to kids ranked above 3rd (135), and Guy Miller which most of you know is ranked 1st in the state at 4A and has only lost by decision to horinek of atwood. Scott has a very strong team and once they get their lineup healthy im sure you'll see them rise up and beat some of the higher teams at the top of the list,
The only sight I adore on a basketball floor is wrestling mats from door to door.
