There is a guy on our team with a foot problem. After practices there is some sort of rust coloration around the toes and toenails on one foot. Keep in mind, this doesn't appear until after practices and only on one foot. He's fairly sure it isn't his shoes or socks, and we think it might be a fungus or something, whatever it is though it looks pretty nasty. Any information about the nature of whatever the stuff is and possible treatments would be great. Thanks.
See if this is drag foot on his shots, have had kids get soreness on their drag foot and toes before, as far as the color and stuff,,pretty sick stuff,,
This definitely sounds fungal. The rust coloration is the give-away. The heat/moisture in his shoe from workout causes the flare-up.
There is NO over-the-counter medication that will kill nail fungus. I did read a medical report about a month ago, that a wierd home remedy might be effective. Involves washing/drying feet well, then massaging Vick's Vaporub into the toe/nail every night. No one has a clue why this works.
