Tim Sayers had a relatively easy side of the bracket compared to the other side, w/ the only real contenders on his side being Shumate and Bingham. Bingham is by no means a fish and he pinned him in .41 seconds....
He had Brady Huck in the finals who is a fine wrestler himself and actually pinned him in the 3rd period w/ the score tied or extremely close. Id contribute some of Sayers success to being a big 103lber. Moving up to 112 probably took away a strength advantage. 103 was by no means weak last yr and was even stronger if u ask me this yr.
The thing that prevented Sayers from being even a state placer was having 4 other state finalists in his bracket. W/ odds like that plenty of cats did worse. 2x state champ, Heinecker, took 4th, state finalist, Woodford, took 3rd, etc....
