I saw the Malloy/Steinmetz match from the front row and have to say it is unbelievable how much Blake and Mike have improved their wrestling and intensity level since last year. This was an action packed match with both going at it full bore the entire 6 minutes. Mike would hit a deep fireman's and Blake would fight it off. Blake would take a good shot and Mike would fight it off as well. The low score during regulation was not because of now offense.

Most of the match was on the feet with both working for position, being agressive, and taking shots. It was 1-1 going into overtime and Mike was right. Blake hit a deep double leg to end one of the best matches I have ever seen. Hats off to both quality wrestlers who will give Kansas fans another great match if they meet up in the finals in Wichita. 171 has 3 of the best wrestlers in Kansas in Malloy, Steinmetz, and Payne.
