And the reason why it is not taking off is, because nobody supports it. Nobody said that the best girl wrestler would beat the best guy wrestler. It was just stated that there are good girls out there and that if there is that much talent, between the girls competition that girls should make there own name in the sport. Girls should have their own tournaments and teams. That would cut out the factor of "the best girl wrestler having to play the best guy wrestler." If the sport would just be supported and encouraged then girls wrestling teams would form and girls wrestling would grow. We are not asking for the sport to be as big as the guys division, but just that it should grow to the point that the competition is more wide spread, and that there is the possibility of having more tournaments in more parts of the united states. Guys do not have to travel out of the state of Kansas to get a good tournament, but if girls want a decent sized tournament then they must travel quite a bit.

how can you call yourself a wrestler if you posted something like this. "the best girl wrestler having to play the best guy wrestler." you should know you don't play wrestling.

yeah, but i can tell by your posts that you really do not support it much. I think if you dont want girls wrestling guys, then support girls wrestling girls more.

in my 2 years as a head high school coach i have had 5 girls, none have quit and all have made themselves better athletes and wrestlers by putting in the work. the differences between the sexes are something that is perpetuated by the stereotypes and biases that the media creates. if a girl has the talent, then she deserves the platform to compete.

I have seen two girls wrestle. One of the girls went to state and made a lot of boys go home crying. I think that they can and should be allowed to wrestle with the boys if they want. I also think that it would be great to have an all girls team.

it sounds to me like thegrimmwrestler has some kind of fear of being beaten by a girl. Any one who is even decent would realize that even if you have to wrestler a girl, the better wrestler will come out on top if its the girl, so be it. and i agree with Prant, girls in the practice room add a little "flavor"

and yes, i am saying thegrimmwrestler is horrible

First a man-crush on Yours Truly, now this. Obviously this guy has some serious issues.

Obviously, the best girl wrestler will never beat the best guy wrestler. But will a good girls wrestler get a lot of wins against guy wrestlers? Of course. Thegrimmwrestler seems to think girls should only wrestle if they are capable of being state champions. If you could only wrestle if you were extremely talented, I doubt our negative buddy would be wrestling as well...

a few years back that was a good girl that wrestled for manhattan on jv at 112. Kera Peremberton won womens nationals one year and i know that she went back the next year and maybe took like 3 or 4 or something(im not sure) but she was good.

matparent the girl i think that you were talking about was from burlingame not burlington and she wrestles 12 and under 96 she placed first in that tournament plus first at a girls tournement the next day.she also placed first last year in girls state and girls nationals. there are also some other up and coming girls in wrestling that everyone should watch out for

Well said, girlwrestlingcoach. The kansas Krusaders definitely has some tough girls coming up through the ranks. We still have room for all you high school girls after you finish the season. Click on girls division on the left of this page and check out our website.
