Is Drennan the best 145 pounder in the state?

Eric Johnson still gets my vote. Hats off to Drennen for stalling the whole 6 min and 30 seconds he did nothing.

Drennan wretled his match and nothing but his match he had Johnson's head down and driving and picking. If Johnson was able to wrestle not tied up or able to use his explosiviness could of been different

Drennan won and another fan makes excuses for his favorite instead of giving credit where it is due. I say all this eventhough I used to live in Norton. Your comments show disrespect for two of the best wrestlers in the state.

Who all beat drennan this year? Did they win state? What was drennan's final record? I believe there isn't any one 145 pounder that is above the rest. I think any of them could beat eachother on any given day.

I think you have to give the this year's all-state award to one of this year's state champs and Luedke beat Drennon earlier this year, beat the 6A champ (Smith from Dodge), and finished first in a tourney where the 5A Champ (Jonas) got sixth. I realize he lost a 3-1 match to Johnson earlier in the year and if Johnson had won state this year I would give it to him, but I think you have to go with Luedke this year.

I wouldn't be bragging about beating Smith from Dodge City. Johnson destroyed him at Newton, taking him down and letting him up numerous times in the match. At the end of the match, Smith just looked like he wanted the torture to end, so he could go somewhere and cry.

i watched the same match u did. Different people have different oppinions and i felt that Drennan stalled except the last 20 seconds in overtime. Hats off to him he is an awesome wrestler and i think he deserved to win. But id love to see a rematch between him and eric, and maybe throw luedke, pyle, and engelbert in there also and let them all go at it.

I would have to give it to drennan. He has had a total of 7 losses his whole high school career. He's also a 2 timer and 1 time runner up. He beat Johnson fair and square. I would like to see Drennan and Luedke go at it again to conclude all this talk. It will be another tight match but i believe Drennan will win this time because he is in better shape which cost him his first lost of the season.

I wasn't bragging that Luedke beat Smith, I was just making the point that Luedke is a state champ and beat the 321A state champ and the 6A state champ and finished above the 5A champ (who was beat by Smith) at the Liberal Tourney. I don't think we need to brag, the all-state guy has to be a state champ in my opinion and Luedke has to get the all-state honor based on this.

well luedke lost to 321a state runner up and johnson lost to drennan. drennan is in better shape now then at beliot so he has the advantage of beating luedke now since drennan got tired in the first match and lost.

Why just not admit that luedke is a dang good wrestler and he beat drennan. Johnson has made no excuses for him loosing to Drennan.

On that day at that time Drennan was better than Eric Johnson and won the state championship. Eric has not made any excuses for himself--a classy young man to say the least as Drennan appears to be.
However, I sincerely believe that if Johnson and Drennan wrestle ten times, Johnson wins 8.

kswrestler2003 why don't you do the same for drennan beating johnson, saying drennan just beat johnson, you are makeing excuses by saying drennan stalled the whole match just as mattizard is saying drennan was out of shape when he lost to luedke, lets not be hippocrits (sp) here. and as far as the best 145 i think everyone needs to execpt the fact that if you take all the 145 pounders in the state this year it would be a differn't outcome everytime, i think it would be pretty even as far as who won each time.

Luedke would win the majority of the time.
