Yes, and it would be different if Ed Gallagher had lead OSU through all of the years when Dan the Man was coaching Iowa.

I only clicked on this page to see the responses of Coach Lemon. I knew, right when I seen the topic, that lemon was going to answer this, and I knew what he would say!

OKLAHOMA HAS BEEN TOUGHER FOR YEARS, AND WILL CONTINUE AS LONG AS THE GENERATIONS OF GREAT OKLAHOMA AND OSU ALUMS KEEP SUPPORTING THE HOME TEAMS. WHILE KS. AND THE HIGH PLAINS STATES HAVE PRETTY MUCH GONE WITH THE USA WRESTLING, OKLAHOMA KEEPS ON WITH ITS AAU HERITAGE, AND WHEN WE GO TO TULSA WHAT HAPPENS? UNLESS THINGS HAVE CHANGED IN THE LAST 3 OR 4 YEARS, ALL THE OTHER STATES THAT COME TO TULSA HAVE A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH THE LOCAL BOYS. ITS A HARD WRESTLING BUNCH THEY HAVE DOWN THERE, AND I THINK THEY ARE THE BEST IN THIS REGION, IF NOT IN THE NATION. THERE ARE BETTER INDIVIDUALS FROM OTHER STATES IN SOME CLASSES, BUT THE AVERAGE WRESTLER IN OKLAHOMA IS BETTER, I THINK.

Mr. Lemon failed to state that Gallagher was his grandfather and hence the reason I asked the question.
Wasn't trying to stir the pot folks, just a little pride that Mr. Gallagher considered Kansas Home. Richard I had forgotten about the talk regarding the Kansas Hall of Fame, and I never knew of the association.

I will say this, and as one who cut their teeth with Oklahoma Wrestling. If looking at a per capita ranking or standard, I truly believe that Kansas is as strong as anyone in the country. Does Ohio, PA or OK produce more champions, of course they do but do the break down for number of people and Kansas more than holds it's own if not exceeds some of those states.

Mr. Lemon I have always been a fan of history. I would love to hear stories about your grandfather sometime as he is one of the top wrestling coaches and individuals of all time. He is on the All Time Kansas All American t-shirt for a reason, knowing that his blood line still flows in Kansas gives me goose bumps.
