Those days of Sainty and Norton were stuff of legend, Jake Durham and Pudge Wilson could both get their guys up and likely there should have been double security at some of those duals. I would really like to see St. Francis get a team championship as they have at least one in every decade since the 1930's, but Norton is just so deep that in my view the 'ol Indians had better get some more arrows in the quiver. Back in the day depth didn't count for so much because Atwood, Oakley, Oberlin, and (way back) Goodland and Colby all had guys in the championship finals and sometimes 4 or 5 guys could win a title. Not so anymore-- I believe that the winning 123a team will have 4 to 5 guys going for first, and 3 or 4 in the consolation, maybe
more. Clay center proved that Norton can be beaten at a tourney, but if you water both teams down with a regional the week before and everyone is healthy, I think Norton wins. Tough to say though, this might be Clay's year. As for Andale in 4a, Swayz could be right-- as odd man out regionalwise, they stand to fill a lot of weights at state to go with the 3 or 4 power guys they have and if they all score, who knows? I think that has happened before in 4a!
