Manhattan has been saying a lot of good things about themselves but....They are all True. Also they haven't spent a lot of time talking crap on other schools unless they are trying to agitate (somebody). Plus The Hat just has too much fun to be taken seriously or cocky.

I don't think it was Manhattan that ever said anything bad about Abilene. I mentioned stuff, but that's been put in the past for me...I haven't mentioned anything negative on Abilene. Heck I like you guys....You've got the Lion's Den!

Aaron, If I am not mistaken Clay finished 2nd with a 4-1 record and Chapman finished 3rd with a 3-2 record. Chapman losing to Abilene and Clay.

Great now we have two people who I can only assume are JV wrestlers for Scott City on here bragging about how they won state. Its just a shame that you didn't contribute any points to the effort. I think we've already established the fact that Scott City won state and for that I gave you praise. However I still thinks its funny how Abilene finished out of first by 9.5 points and only brought less that half the guys that Scott city did. Case in point im not upset in any way that Abilene finshed second, actually im quite happy about it. Just another top 3 finish to add to the tradition. I made no excuses for them, other people might have but I did not. I heard all these rumors about people not feeling well, broken body parts and so on, but I dismissed them. I think what sets in my mind above all else is that Abilene was three match points away from another state championship( speaking about the two 4th place finshers who could have got third but did not). And you don't get much closer than that! So while you two bask in the glory of being state champions as I and my fellow teamates have already, just remember that those three match points is all that seperates the two teams.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Wamego beat Marysville in the dual.

I don't want to Nigel bash, but I have to disagree with saying a JV wrestler didn't contribute to the effort. Every kid that mixes it up with a varsity wrestler is contributing. They may not win a match in state, but they certainly do help a team win a state title.

There is not a state champion on Goddard's team that did not get there without the help of a JV wrestler. We make sure they all know that it is the entire team effort that wins tournaments and championships.

So Nigel, are you blaming the 2nd place team finsish on the two 4th place individual finishers?

No Coach Lane I think you misinterpreted what I said. I wasn't blaming anyone, I was saying that if those two had got third place Abilene would have won the championship not 2nd. I know those two gave their best effort and came up just short. It was just a hypothetical situation that I was thinking of. Also I above alot of people know how valuble JV wrestlers can be to the team. However what I posted before was a strictly literal term. I said they did not wrestle in the state tournament therefore they did not score any points and thus had no part in securing the championship for the team. Now if you want to argue that they indirectly contributed by practicing during the year then be my guest I won't argue with you there.

I love reading going back and forth with Nigel, but I think Abilene does have some realy good freshmen coming up that will score points in the state tourny.

if abilene looses, nigell will just come up with a few more ixcuses next year, why bother. I'll tell you why, because he gets mad, and he explodes, and makes a fool of himself.
