I agree Wyandotte county has a very rich wrestling tradition. Bonner was at it's strongest during the 70's and 80's. The coach during most of this time was Dick (Big Daddy) Burns. He is now honored in the Kansas Wrestling Hall of Fame. His dual record for his first 10 years of coaching was 65-6. His teams also included two runner-ups and a third place finish in the 3A State Championships. Individual Champs during the 70's & 80's were:

3-A State Champs
Preston Cole
Mike Bell
Frank Gonzales 2 time champ (High School record 69-1) and NCAA II Champ
Levi Middleton (also won Grand State)
Eddie Seaton 2 time state (also won Grand State)
State Champs (not sure what class Bonner was in then)
David Blackwell
