I too, am familiar with the W-SE situation as it relates to a kids program, or more importantly, the lack thereof.

In general, I think the nature of the kind of kids involved in wrestling are going to more closely resemble the overall demographic of a private school situation anyway. In Wichita, it shouldn't be surprising that the Carroll and Kapaun situations are having the long-term success that they are. Wichita schools, in general, not having that natural pipeline of a built-in kids program are always going to be at somewhat of a disadvantage. Yes, there are a couple of pipeline programs, but overall, no.

W-South is one exception to that "rule" granted.

WSEWC, you are to be congratulated btw, to your success (with OR without a kids program pipeline). A difficult situation to be sure. W-SE went from the basement to a legitimate contender in only a couple of years in this league. A very definite huge accomplishment.

Also, one of W-South's successful wrestlers this season was previously a W-SE wrestler. Definitely another difficult situation for a coach.

Just one person's opinion.
