Prant, I would have been disappointed if you had not weighed in on this subject. I agree with your logic to a certain extent. With only average effort, one should be able to achieve a C in English. With a little more than average effort, a B should be within reach. With even more effort, an A is achievable. Pranted (sic), we all have varying levels of innate intelligence. However, if I search deep within my memory, I don’t recall that College English 101 required an IQ in the genius range. While we started this off by discussing grades, my real desire is that we all expend enough effort in English class to be competent. As I stated earlier, many supposedly educated people I work with (engineers and other technical folk) appear uneducated because of their poor language usage. A number of posters on this board appear the same. I don’t claim to be perfect and if you read my posts closely enough I’m sure you can find some errors.
If early in life someone had told me that English really was important, I would have had a much easier time pulling Bs and As in College English class. …. Okay, that’s BS, I would not have listened any more than you youngsters are going to listen to me now.

If you strive to be only average, you will likely never be anything other than just that. Now I’m starting to ramble and philosophize so I’ll stop.

P.S. Back in MY day, we had Atari (Pong) and Coleco (Breakout).
P.P.S. Who the heck is this Cody Bell anyway and does he actually have a chance of taking 1st at State?
