I do not think you should talk of "rumors" of substance abuse unless you know them to be true. It is a potentially libelous thing to be doing.

Fanatic, im not trying to put you down or anything you say, but there are some things that need to be considered. A person can only be held accountable for being libelous if they make a direct claim stating a flase truth that maybe be damaging to a person. For instance if Mr. Swaeazy said "Dusty may was arrested for substance abuse and hes a total ..... " that could be considered libelous. However he simply stated that he had heard a rumor. Also the realm of libelous statements can only be held in places that would affect public opinion i.e. newspapers, radio stations, and so on. Why do you think that tabloids don't get sued for that crap they print? Becuase everyone knows they are not true. A public opionion forum would never hold up in court for a libel case. And as I said before he never directly state that he knows that this particular person did this and that. There is a thing called the 1st ammendment and it gives those the right to say their opinions within reason, in a court case one would have to prove that a person malicously tried to affect another persons creditability to cuase harm which obviously mr. sweazy did not he was simply saying something he had heard. If everyone could get suid for continuing a rumor that has been spread their wouldn't be very many people leaft in the streets cuase they would all be in jail. Oh I confirmed all of this from my lawyer brother-in-law just in case anyone was going to try and tell me I had no evidence to support what I said. So Aaron you are safe in what you said, continue your speculation but do not disregard the rules of the forum (i.e no personal attacks)

I would have to say you guys are right. All of these things u are saying about May are false. There are no arrest records for drugs. It is to bad u guys spend the majority of your time surfing through the KWCA forums bashing people. While the real men just got out there and suck it up. I bet guys actually envy Dustin May for his great accomplishment of being a 4x state champion. How state championships do you guys have? I bet I can guess! State championships are not given away might I remind u SURFERS!

Talking this kind of trash is wrong. How would you like it if I said I heard you use drugs or are gay or something. Not very well, I presume and I wouldn't blame you. You are potentially damaging a guys reputation in print. I have news for you, even saying "you heard" won't cover your base.

ok what if I were to produce a tape of an incident involving somebody(past or present?)? would that cover my base?...and Meister I rarely ever attack anybody on this forum I for the most part try to promote Kansas I have great pride but get pissed when guys who have the talent( and this isn't attacking one person either) choke it off and and don't give back to the sport or to the state...you have the talent and hopefully will be able to use your on mat talents to help off the mat too...we need more guys like the Dustin Mays and Aaron Meisters of the state to be able to speak up...you guys will get tons more the attention from D1 schools in our state in trying to get programs established for the 1st time or again...you are larger voices in fighting to retain programs across the nation...I found myself writing presidents of colleges that were cancelling programs to keeep them...you have more pull you guys are "Champions of the Mat" I know the pressure of success is greater on you individuals that excelled , but the spotlight won't dim or cool down on you guys...I just wish you guys can use your superior talents on the mat to become "Champions off the Mat,' and futhermore help programs to flourish across the state and country...remember this: If you are ever in a situation to save a program and you don't you are just damaging the sport with your negligence.

True or not, the statement regarding Dustin May has NO place on this forum. Dustin and his parents HAVE given plenty to the wrestling community in Kansas. Tony having coached for years, with assistance from Dustin in his later years and Mrs. May as an officer in USAW Kansas Kids.

I have found several comments of Sweazy to be without basis and appear to be fiction and only wish in his zealous attempt to draw attention to himself, which obviously his wrestling did not do, he will do more research and attempt to report only the facts.

It all comes down to the fact on the last post I didn't say a name so technically I can get you for assuming things also also....It's comparable to the Kobe Bryant Rape incident...nobody wants to believe it because of what he accomplishes on the court...but most kids anymore in high school are doing illegal stuff because of poor parenting...furthermore in college it's way out of hand...I'm glad Salyer was able to keep up with mywrestling career...I know it's not as impressive as the loss-win ratio of the nearby powerhouse CIRCLE, but hey we can't all be great now can we?

Mr Sweazy
Unfortunately, your post says more about you than it does about anyone else. It is about character.
. You confuse me. I get the impression you are concerned about these guys promoting wrestling with positive publicity? Did I get that right? Because if that is the case why are "you" doing just the opposite?
