Here is the ultimate solution, move the scale to the second floor of the building. That is much more of a difference than moving aobut 1/8 a pound of blood 5 feet (from your feet to your head). Will either method change how much you weigh, not any measureable amount. Why did it work for those other knuckleheads- because they were probably too dizzy to stand still. If they were using an old school scale the movement would cause the scale to "Break". If it was a digital scale, you have a crappy scale.
When I was cutting weight, I always wanted to weigh in at Denver, since it is a mile higher than where I used to live. I thought that would make a difference. The thing I was not accounting for is the certification of the scales. They are supposed to be certified with precise weights, which if they were all made at the same place should weigh the same. The scale in Denver would be adjusted so that the 50 pound weight would cause the scale to read 50 pounds, just like the scale at sea level. The realization of that caused a profound sense of loss. I then moved on to deciding which organs I could live with out, Appendix, wisdom teeth, 1 kidney, etc.
Oh yeah, I am a science teacher.
