If you look closely, you will also notice two of those individuals were also state medalists. They were both from good teams with very tough schedules. They also beat wrestlers with very good winning records. Records are not always a true representation of a wrestler's talent. There are many teams in the state who have traditionally tough schedules, Ark City, Turner, Campus, Winfield, Liberal, Blue Valley, Shawnee Heights, Bishop Carroll, Hays, and others. Many of these teams wrestle between 40-50 matches go to multiple two-day tourneys and wrestle out of state, therefore their wrestlers may not have the shining records other teams have, but their wrestlers can be more prepared for regional and state level competition.

i agree with you except for 1-16, 3-8, 2-20. One of these guys won 1 match to make it to state, Most have to win at least two to make it. This guy got a bye into the state tournment, thats pretty lame.
ENJOY!!!

I would say Jeff Razor from JC. He was a very good heavyweight wrestler, then dropped to 215 and was semi-poopy. 215 was weak as crap that year, and he still won every match at state in either overtime or double OT. That year they should have just given out 4th, 5th, and 6th place medals, because none of those guys would have finished any higher in any other year.
Congrats, Aquinas! Great job, Hat Town! Salyer Rules!
