I AM PROUD THAT MY OLD HIGH SCHOOL IS DOING GREAT THIS YEAR I KNOW WHEN I WAS THERE 2 YEARS AGO WE HAD A YOUNG TEAM AND WAS DESTINED TO BE ABLE TO DO GREAT THINGS ABOUT NOW. I KNOW THEY HAVE ABOUT 4 PEOPLE I BELIEVE CAN PLACE IN STATE LIKE ANDREW TYSON, STEWART BOGART,ALI SULTIAN, AND JONG KIM SO I FEEL COACH RIOS HAS DONE A GREAT JOB THIS YEAR AND COULD BE A CONTENDER FOR COACH OF THE YEAR LIKE THE YEAR HE WON IT IN 1998 CO GOOD LUCK RAIDERS DEAN JOHNSON

Coach Rios felt that this team was pretty special all year long and he was right. Twenty one years is a long time without a league championship. I think this team wanted it as much for coach as for themselves. The team has some excellent wrestlers that are experienced and provide leadership to a hard working group of underclassmen that have a real passion for the sport.I would like to see coach get the recognition he deserves.Right now I think he is pretty proud!

Twenty-one years seeking a goal of a league championship is an accomplishment. I wish this forum could have one string of messages where someone doesn't start "bagging" on someone else. If you've won a championship "G", then congratulations. You should understand what it feels like to reach a goal - especially one that has eluded a team and coach for 21 years. If you've not won a championship, you've never been there, so don't say it doesn't mean much. Congratulations to the SM South Team and coaching staff - a goal achieved and well deserved. Good luck this weekend. Bill Rinkenbaugh Augusta, KS

Who ever it was that said the Sunflower league wasn't tough forgot that Olathe South and FreeState are both ranked top ten in the state. Also Shawnee Mission South has beaten teams at tournaments like STA and Witchita West who are also both ranked.
