I don't know if it is appropriate to single a seventh grader out in a forum but I think this young man deserves some special recognition. I first learned of his accomplishments in an earlier topic on 12 & under 130 pounders for this year. I researched to see how he had done in previous State tournaments. This is pretty impressive.
1998 1st 8/67 1999 1st 8/73 2000 1st 10/82 2001 1st 10/95 2002 1st 12/110 2003 1st 12/140 (Unfortunately, he won against my son's teammate EJ Walter in this year's final)
Marvio may even win next year as an 8th grader against the 9th graders. I know I would not want to put any money against him.
You hear how Tiger Woods is golf's Chosen One. I'm beginning to think that about Marvio.
I first had my son watch him at the Liberty Nationals and then at this year's Topeka tournament. I would recommend any parent of a younger wrestler whose child is in the approximate age and weight groups that Marvio won above to take the opportunity to watch him wrestle. He is quite an athlete and a pleasure to watch. He does things on the mat you just do not see bigger wrestlers do. If you are going to Nationals he is entered in the Schoolboy division at 140.
There are two other Kansas wrestlers who I would also recommend in this age group and approximate weight group to watch this weekend. I believe they are entered at 125 for this weekend's Nationals. Jared Hensley is now a three time defending State Champion. I got to see him for the first time this weekend. He is another great athlete and wrestler. Also watch Aldon Isenberg who finished second to Jared. I believe Aldon won the Cliff Keen National tournament in November this year. Aldon is an excellent technique wrestler who has some great takedown moves.

Ahh yes,
Marvio the six time kids state champion and multiple time national champion. His list of accomplishments go on and on. I must say it has been a pleasure and an honor to be able to coach him over the last two years. In most cases he is a hard worker in practice. He has the ability to adapt his wrestling style to beat his opponent. One name that comes to mind is Judd Schroeder from the brawlers who beat Marvio early last season and then marvio adapted and beat him, It has been fun watching him grow up through his kids years beucause I remember his very first year of kids. In any case there should be good things in his future, if he can keep his head in the right place.

WOW, Who could have guessed that Nigel would somehow bring himself up and seek fame for himself on this topic!
If all goes as Nigel plans, we will see him in the wrestlers hall of fame.

Who could've guessed you'd have some response to something Nigel posted; you always do. Marvio is an outstanding young man and very hard worker! He is always always trying to better himself! I look forward to hearing more about him in the future at Abilene High School. He has a lot of POTENTIAL! Congrats this year, Marvio!

I don't bring this up for any reason than to show that Nigel is wrong. I watched Judd Schroeder pretty much have his way with Marvio at the Cotton Bowl Classic on 12/28/02 -- this season. Here are the results I copied from http://www.cottonbowlclassic.org. That being said I agree that Marvio is a "Marvel" but there is always someone who can beat you. 1 4 135 Judd Schroeder Brawlers Wrestling Colwich KS 2 4 135 Marvio Tischhauser Abilene Kids Wrestling Club Hope KS 3 4 135 Spencer Jernigan Arlington Storm Arlington TX 4 4 135 Jeremy Watson Borger Youth Wrestling Borger TX 5 4 135 Robert Kellogg Team Chargers Sioux City IA 6 4 135 Parker Jackson Ozark Wrestling Ozark

Lunaticdude, you really are a lunatic!!! how did you watch that match in December 2003 when it is now only April 2003. It looks to me like you just confirmed what Nigel said is true.

Well since everyone like to correct me let me correct you Lunatic, first of all how would Marvio & Judd have wrestled on 12/28/03 when that is 8 months away, you should edit your post and fix that. Im not going to make excuses for marvio's defeats but then again I never did say he couldn't be beat, if you would take the time to actually read the post you would see where it says... "One name that comes to mind is Judd Schroeder from the brawlers who beat Marvio early last season and then marvio adapted and beat him" Never did I say "Yeah so Mavio beats this kid every time they wrestle, and he will never get beat by him again" Im sorry Lunatic but you are a terible reader! All I said was I have enjoyed coaching marvio, and all the sudden im trying to get myself into the hall of fame.

Nigel, the only reason I make those comments is that most all of your posts end up in you talking about yourself one time or another! It just seems that you are still seeking some kind of fame or recognition. I'm sure you were a good wrestler and are a good coach, I just don't like hearing about it all the time!!

"The Marvel" strikes again! First place at Nationals Schoolboy Division at 140 pounds. Congratulations to Marvio and the Tischhauser family. Oh and congratulations to all of Abilene. It looks like Abilene is going to have a new favorite son.

I'VE WATCHED MARVIO WRESTLE FOR A VERY LONG TIME AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYBODY HANDLE HIM. JUD DID BEAT HIM AT THE COTTON BOWL BUT IT WAS BY 2 POINTS. EVERY TIME THESE TWO WRESTLE IT IS VERY CLOSE AND COMES DOWN TO THE LAST SECONDS. JUD IS IN 8TH GRADE AND WILL BE A TOP CONTENDER IN HIGH SCHOOL NEXT YEAR. SO FOR MARVIO BEING IN 7TH GRADE AND COMPETING WITH HIM IS AN ACOMPLISHMENT IN IT SELF.
