Breakdown by Western Ks. Leagues at State:

North West Kansas League:
12 placers (13 if you count McGinty at 171 lbs. that wrestled for Hoxie before Christmas break then won a medal for Southeast of Saline at state.
Top 10 Teams:
3rd-St.Francis (5 placers)
6th-Hoxie (3 placers)
10th-Oberlin (3 placers)

MCL
25 Placers
Top 10 Teams
1st-Norton (9 placers)
2nd-Smith Center (6 placers)
4th-Phillipsburg ((5 placers)

All other Leagues put together:
47 placers
Top 10 teams:
5th-Silver Lake (3 Placers)
7th-Eurka (4 placers)
8th-Beloit (3 placers)
9th-Garden Plain (3 placers)

Granted MCL & NWKL schools had 6 of the top 10 spots in the 3-2-1A tourn. But many other schools back east (I don't consider Beolit east but they are not in the MCL or NWKL)competed well and look to be breaking up the Western Kansas dominance. Are the dwindling number of students catching up with Western Kansas ???? Well the answer is yes more medals are being won but 16 out of the 28 finalist are still from MCL or NWKL.

Also the Oberlin Regional did place all 4 wrestlers at 215 lbs. and the only weight that did not have a placer from either the MCL or NWKL was 171 lbs. (But then again consider the McGinty transfer at Christmas break).

Just some thoughts to ponder:
Hillsboro (Basketball USA, had a state finalist)
Garden Plain did very well
Co-op Schools Fredonia and Neodesha had two HWTS. that placed.
Gossel had a placer (birth place of my wife).
