I believe that Smith and City High also once brought in a kid from Kansas. The name escapes me (for some reason I want to say Jesse West, but that might not be it), but the kid in question transfered to City High from (again I think) Emporia and was unbeaten entering the state finals and ended up losing.

Both Smith and Reiland have been accused of recruiting over the years, and frankly around here it's considered to be common knowledge. I seriously doubt that any of these kids transfered without someone from West (or City for that matter) talking to them behind the scenes.
