Rules for last year's event were as follows:
Matches on the championship side and in the match for third and fourth are one three minute period. After points are scored both wrestlers are placed back on their feet.
Scoring on the championship side:
1 point is awarded for a regular takedown with no back exposure.
2 points are awarded for a takedown where the opponent is taken to his back but not held. No count required.
3 points are awarded for a takedown to the back with the opponent being held in near fall criteria for a five count. A pin can be awarded within the five count if the shoulders are flat for one second. Match returns to neutral position when the bottom man breaks near fall criteria or the five count is reached.
8 point lead results in a technical fall.
If the three minutes ends in a tie - the following criteria decides the match:
1). most 3 pt moves
2). most 2 pt moves
3). most activity points scored
4). any warnings or infractions received result in a loss
5). untimed sudden victory.
Consolation side have the potential of being 3 one minute periods. But a takedown ends the period. Best 2 of 3 takedowns wins the match and no extra points for near fall exposure or a fall can be recorded. If no takedown is recorded after one minute in the first two periods, the referee selects the aggressor and give him that period. The third period would then be an untimed sudden victory.
Awards were given, but I can't recall if it went through third or fourth place.
