Greg did hear from Danny a little while ago (mainly to tell us he made weight). He didn't get a lot of information from him, but as we do, I'll try to post.
They are seeded 8th and some of the teams in their pool are Tennessee, Missouri and New Mexico.

Just heard from Danny. Team Kansas is currently 2-0 with wins against Tennessee and Iowa. They will wrestle Minnesota next, the #1 seed in the tournament. This should be a tough dual for Team Kansas.
After Minnesota they will wrestle New Mexico. Tonight, they have the first round bye and then he couldn't remember who they would have the next. After the ?? team, they will wrestle Missouri.
I'll try to keep you posted!

Gavin and I are going down Thursday morning early. If anyone wants to go to the Jr. Duals for the rest of the week, let me know ASAP. I would enjoy the extra company going down. I'm leaving from the Clay Center area in the morning, but if there are no takers, we may leave tonight. If anyone wants to go, contact me at gratergr@kansas.net or by cell phone at (785) 632-1887 before 5:00 pm Wednesday.

Just talked to Danny. In their pool, they had Michigan, Flordia, and California. The other pool had Ohio, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and New York. The pools were very tough and we did not come out on top, losing the duals.
He said they will wrestle for 7th & 8th against Pennsylvania this evening.
These young men should be proud of their accomplishments. You will see several of the wrestlers of these teams listed above wrestling in the medals rounds at Fargo!!
FYI - He did just call back and say that Glenn Reese from California just beat Rocky Cozart from Florida and the place erupted!! He said Glenn Reese had signed to wrestle at Dana College next year.

Is Taplin injured or what, I noticed he lost a couple and then did not compete in a couple?

Team Kansas beat Utah, and will be wrestling Florida shortly. If we win that match, we should be assured of advancing into the Red & Blue Pool to compete for one of the top eight spots.
After Florida, we will be wrestling Illinois, which is the only other undefeated team in our pool. Illinois was seeded #2 for the tournament, while Florida was seeded #7 and Kansas was the #10 seed.

Team Kansas defeated Florida 39-21 (and that was with a scratch at heavyweight, as Coach Garcia gave Tony Lewis some rest). This guarantees that we will advance to the final pool of eight teams.
Our final pool match will be with Illinois, and should start in about an hour. The winner of this match will win the pool, which will help in getting a good seed in the Red & Blue Pool.
