I just finished talking with Mike after he received phone calls and comments regarding comments on the video thread. This is his response. " To All of those whom I offended on the posting of the video, I want to apologize. That being said, there are several things I would like to say. First I want to make it clear that the posting of the video was in no way glorifying either the throw or the boy getting knocked unconscious. My intent rightly or wrongly was to respond to several people who had contacted me regarding the throw and incident. I must also admit rightly or wrongly that part of the intent was to also show what can happen to the person getting thrown Part of my thought was that the video could be used to help teach what to do when thrown. After hearing the comments, I can understand where some have been offended and I apologize. That being said, I want to clarify: there was no intent celebrating the young man getting hurt. The clip is exactly as videoed without edit. The reason for the 2nd video of the young man lying there was to give fact the he regained consiousness. I could have filmed longer, but those of us present were busy applauding the young man as he walked off the mat. I felt that this video could help coaches understand why it is important to teach young men and women what to do when being thrown. For those who have questions or comment feel free to call me. It was a great throw!!!!!

Mike, you should post any and all the videos you want without anyone being offended. Let the crybabies cry! Please post all the video you can for those of us that can't be there to see the action live.

Some of us at the tournament that heard about the controversy surrounding the video have a hard time believing it. Every coach and official in the country needs to see it. I would say fans do as well. It shows the importance of making sure we have coaches that do their job. The word here at the tournament is that this was the kids first ever FS/Greco tournament, a mistake if you ask me. For those that FS and especially Greco we see things like this all the time. Welcome to the sport of wrestling.

I watched the video. Some of the comments here imply that the error was on the part of the wrestler being thrown. Please explain, what are you supposed to do when you are thrown?

Tuck your head, with chin to chest, this protects your neck.

Maybe I have and maybe I have not!

Ms. Jenni

I can report that Jarrett Edison is doing well. It was a partial posterior dislocation of his right elbow. The trainer was quick to act and was able to reduce it and while it does hurt and is swollen. He should do well and have a full recovery. We will be doing PT and get him ready for the college season.

The KS boys did us proud once again!!!!!!!!! Thank you boys for a great week of wrestling once again.

I'm glad Jarrett is doing well. I hated to hear about his injury.

Yes, the Kansas boys have done us proud and I also want to thank them for a great week of wrestling! Even though I was not there to watch, I certainly kept up with them via the forum.

WAY TO GO TEAM KANSAS!

I would like to thank all the Kansas boy's that have represented our State over the past couple weeks. You guy's are all class acts. Congratulations to everyone who represented Kansas in the Cadet & Junior Duals, USA GR/FS Nationals, AAU Brute Super Grand Nationals, I know the list goes on. We also have had some kids in Bulgaria I believe from Kansas. I applaud all of you. Good luck this year in Fargo, Sunflower State Games, Camp Tournaments, for those that will be competing in these and any other events. on anther note to Jarrett Edison. You have been a inspiration to many young men in the sport, I have seen you give instructions, and advise to even your competition. Many boy's look up to you for they see how hard work, and detication pay's off. We will miss you this upcoming year at the High School level, but I'm sure that you will be noticed on a national level through college, and good luck next year. Hope you have a speedy recovery, and thanks for all the exciting matches over the years.

Jarrett can't type so well right now, our whole family thanks you for the kind words about Jarrett. That really says what we feel about him too. His college coach was there for the match when Jarrett was injured, and while Jarrett is sad to miss Fargo and what that might have brought, we are all looking forward to his college career and watching how he turns out as a man and a college wrestler.

Thanks again for the kind words, they are very much appreciated.

Ms. Jenni
