Actually Robin Williams, who the quote is from is a rather popular comic and actor. Mr. Avallone is just quoting Robin Williams, who by the way, is considered by many more of a liberal than a conservative. I don't know if this is really from Robin Williams or not, maybe somebody can check it out with truth or fiction or something.
