The news crew of KSNT Channel 27 in Topeka was on hand at the Kansas Krusaders 4/17 practice at Burlingame High School. The news team produced a 2-minute segment that aired on the 5pm and 10pm newscasts that night. It was a very positive piece about the growth of women's wrestling, USA Wrestling's support of women's wrestling, and the growing opportunities for top girls to earn college wrestling scholarships. Wrestlers Kayley Croucher of Burlingame, Emma Mercer of Lawrence, and Yaslyn Howey of Topeka were interviewed and there were many shots of all the girls working on freestyle wrestling drills. The segment closed with an open invitation for other girls to get involved and how to contact Coach Ed.

Many thanks to all the girls at the practice and to those who were interviewed. You were great ambassadors for the sport of wrestling.

To those girls who are considering taking up the sport or who want to further develop their wrestling skills, these Sunday practices provide wonderful opportunities to work out with other girls under the direction of some exceptional coaches - Ed Edison, Jason Ogden, Jarrod Ogden, Justin Ogden, and Bill Croucher. FYI, there are freestyle competition coming up which will feature girls divisions and these practices get you ready to compete and also help you prepare for the USAW Junior Women's Nationals scheduled for late July in Fargo.
