This has been a very hotly debated subject in the past years, not only for wrestling but also for all other sports teams. Even legislation was brought about to help align Kansas with other states in this regard last year...I believe it had to do with swim teams and swim clubs, but would also migrate into all other sports including wrestling as well. It was shot down unanimously by the state legislation last year and anyone correct me if I am wrong at any point in this please, Was it a piece of legislation brought about or was it a petition for legislation. ANYWAY, we as tax paying citizens need to rise up and fight this injustice to our kids and our state as a whole for all sports programs since it seems like the KSHSAA wants to dictate to our youth that we are unable to keep up with the Oklahoma's and the Pennsylvania's by banning club competition coupled with Scholastic competition and thus our student athletes suffer in the process. In numbers maybe in the near future we can make this change, but it would be up to us as voters and the like to take a stand and have our voice heard.
