Finally healthy this year his junior season and two weeks developed a MRSA staff infection. This is very nasty stuff.

I know that MRSA has nothing to do with the ICE. But it is just as dangerous, if not more so.
MRSA can present itself quickly, and in different forms. We first thought my brother had an ingrown hair, then we thought maybe it was a spider bite. It is not just your average pain. It is extremely tender, and the longer it goes without treatment the more it turns red and swells. And it goes without quick treatment because people and Drs. just aren't sure what it is. My brothers first diagnois was cellulitus. Then after 4 days the swelling was so big in his knee he could barely get his jeans over it. To make this very long story short...He could have lost his leg if the dr. had poked thru to the bone when taking the culture. If you have pain and swelling and are not sure of the cause, mention the possiblity of MRSA.
