I was having a discussion with someone last night, can anyone tell me how many kids the classic has had each year since it moved to Gross Memorial Coliseum?

There was the one I should have asked to begin with, thanks. I was thinking it was higher around 11-1200 but I guess I was wrong. Thanks.

We currently have 955 entries and will take High School and 14U thru Wendesday. Several of the brackets will be 16 man with some weights having 2 16 man brackets. We will power backet to get ready for Sub District. As far as 14U 75 there will be 8 wrestlers at 75-85. Looks like a good group of wrestlers.

Re: Western Kansas Classic Entry Numbers - 03/03/10 05:58 PM

Park City Has between 1000 and 1050 right as of this morning and WKC has posted and entry numbers that I have found yet. I would guess that Park City will have 1-2 hundred more wrestlers and WKC

WKC has 955 as of Monday and was accepting 14 under and HS through today so looks like there pretty close. Wish they wouldn't have to have these on the same weekend.

what is the weight policy going to be for wkc? Like 55# bracket are you going to give .5# variounce or allow them to go to 55.9#? 55.0 strict no exceptions?

shouldn't be worried about weight allowance this time of the year. They have to make weight next week.

Re: Western Kansas Classic Entry Numbers - 03/04/10 05:32 PM

well we turned in entry couple of weeks ago and he gained 2 pounds so just trying to figure out so we can prepare accordingly. probably have to bump him up for state.

Re: Western Kansas Classic Entry Numbers - 03/04/10 05:45 PM

I hope it is scratch weight, it only creates more problems down the road when they let kids slide. Not trying to get on your bad side Dad2323 just voicing an opinion.

Re: Western Kansas Classic Entry Numbers - 03/04/10 06:00 PM

Everything in kids should be scratch weight and no allowance. If your kid can't make weight then bump them up. They only place that this is an issue is at some of the heavier weights when they combine brackets.

Re: Western Kansas Classic Entry Numbers - 03/04/10 06:09 PM

I agree, my son has been at 52 all year, and weighing in at 51 or so. He decided this was a good time to hit a growth spurt and put on 2 pounds in the last week and a 1/2. So I went ahead and bumped him up. It sucks because there aren't as many kids, but that is part of it.

Wondering if your going to post entries anywhere? Just wondering what boys are going where.. Seems like alot are going to Hays and not Wichita.
