What kids are in the running for 50? I've seen a few good kids around that weight.
Any opinions here? Who is the best 50 pounder in Kansas???
Some listed but add if you know:
Braden Tatum - Derby
NaKaylen Shabazz - Maize
AB Stokes - Larned
Clayton Bower - Brawlers
Chris Coates - Rock Creek

All of those are great kids, I've seen enough 8 year old wrestlers to know that it depends on the day..Anyone would represent your team in a great way. Good luck in the duals Chief.

Re: Junior Renegades! - 02/05/13 08:43 PM
Chief, that is a very tough call my son has wrestled all of these kids and been whooped, also there are two Braden Tatum's they are cousins and both wrestle for Derby and the one you have listed is wrestling at 52 right now and probably couldn't make 50 however his cousin Brayden is wrestling 46 and it would not be a problem for him and they are both tough as nails. That being said I think on any given day any of these lil studs could beat each other. I would love to see them all in a 5 man round robin. I can't pick one of them to be the best 50 in the state.

Some results that may help you choose,
Coates finished 2nd in State last year at 8U 46 and Bowers, Stokes and Shabazz DNP.
This year results:
Tournament of Champions Results
1 8 49 Christopher Coates Rock Creek
2 8 49 Clayton Bowers Brawlers
3 8 49 Jason Parrish Olathe Southside
4 8 49 Ethan Burgess Rock Creek Kids
5 8 49 Levi Glover Kansas Young Guns
6 8 49 Ab Stokes Larned Jr Indians
NaKaylen Shabazz – Maize – DNP @49lbs
Braden Tatum – Derby – DNP @52lbs
But..

8 Under - 49 (1st)
Champ. Round 1: NaKaylen Shabazz (Maize) over () (Bye)

[/b]Semifinal: NaKaylen Shabazz (Maize) over Cole Brooks (Oklahoma Blue T) (Pin 1:00)

That is a good win as Dalton Weber is a stud

Re: Junior Renegades! - 02/05/13 10:54 PM
I'll agree Coates is the most consistent, but I've seen all of these kids in action and I wouldn't be surprised if anyone of these kids upset the other..example Shabazz beats Bowers, Stokes beats Shabazz and Bowers, Bowers 2nd at Salina, Stokes 6th, Shabazz does not place...Coates vs Stokes?? I don't think they have seen each other this year. Not trying to make it tough on you Chief, just trying to show all the kids some love.

Re: Junior Renegades! - 02/06/13 01:06 AM
I agree, Stokes beat Bowers in OT at Goddard and that bracket was all jacked up they should have met in the finals. Coates does stand out in this group. Treaster from Newton should probly be thrown in the mix here even though he would be giving up some weight and not sure if he has wrestled against any of these boys this year. You have a tough choice and a tough wrestler with all of these young STUDS.

Chief,
I am not sure if you are still needing anyone at 235, but if you are. Chris Cox from Oakley is a beast. He would be small for 235, as he only weighs around 200, but he is quick and athletic. Just throwing another name out there if you are needing one.
Thanks. I will keep him in mind.

I got to give props where props are due if it wasnt for Jon Trowbridge pulling one out of his a@@ the last match to give us the championship, that was one heck of a match, the team performance was great also. Had a blast and way to go Trowbridge and a shout out to our heavy weight that got the ball rolling by pinning his kid on the second mat.
That was huge on Trowbridge's part! We are tied 45-45, the mat is surrounded by Wisconsin and Kansas fans and Jonny comes straight out and hits that firemans on his way to dominating the match to clinch the dual and championship. Everybody on the team contributed but that was cool when on the spot!
