J. Pratt at 120 is a state qualifier moving up two weight classes, N. Lamb is a state qualifier moving up one weight class, wouldn't that give him the higher ranking and put him at sixth?

Most certainly not.
Jon Pratt won 27 matches last year. He went 2-2 at State, losing 8-4 to state champion Goldenstein and then only 4-3 to Fargo AA Josiah Seaton. He was a Frontier League champion and placed 2nd at Regionals.
Nathan Lamb went 13-11 and 0-2 at State, losing to an 8-6 Soph Ryan Brocker.
4A rankings tomorrow! This first week of rankings have been the most challenging of all. Sorry about the delay.

Why were Miller and Foreman put ahead of Kester and Mainus?
Chief, just curious how teams are ranked, I know its early in the season and it don't really matter, it's just fun to look at.
I scored the teams according to individual rankings using this criteria and I came up with something different that what is posted for teams:
1st 6pts
2nd 5pts
3rd 4pts
4th 3pts
5th 2pts
6th 1pt
I came up with:
1. Colby 23pts
2. Bonner Springs 21pts
3. Andale 19pts
T4. El Dorado 17pts
T4. Chanute 17pts
6. Buhler 15pts
7. Concordia 13pts
8. Mulvane 10pts
T9. Augusta 9pts
T9. Pittsburg 9pts
Like I said I don't know what criteria is used but this is what I came up with.
The starting point of the scoring system is much closer to an actual tournament scoring. I many tournaments the winner of a bracket should score around 20-25 pounts.
I start with:
1st - 20
2nd - 14
3rd - 10
4th - 8
5th - 5
6th - 3
Then I add in non-placing wrestlers that will likely score points.
P.S. Having just added Fiscus and keeping Drybread in the rankings, Chanute moves up considerably! I know Jordan has not wrestled yet though, so I did not add his 14 points.
Are the 4A rankings going to be updated soon?

Miller beat Reishick (160) at their dual this week.
Also,I believe Dylan Eck is in 11th grade.

Just curious Chief, 106# what criteria does Miller have over the upperclassmen?
Kester has flat out struggled to start the season. Having beaten Mainus in his state bracket, I have had him above David. What has separated Miller and Mainus is the common match with Delforge from VC at the Colby duals. Delforge has been on a tear, pinning Mainus and beating Miller 9-7 in a very close match.
Watkins from Columbus is ranked at 145 for 4A but 152 for All Class. I think he is going to stay at 152 for Regionals and State
Yes, the All-Class rankings have been updated but the 4A rankings are not updated until next Tuesday.

A wrestlers finish at state. However, Marc Reiss of Rock Creek High School is off to an impressive start to the season and seems to be being ignored or forgotten that his school jumped from 3a to 4a earlier this year. 17-1 start to the season with wins over 321a Hager (Norton) and 5a Bazan (Junction City) both very good and ranked wrestlers. 1st at Clay Center, 1st at Burlington, 3rd at Mission Valley. At kids club state he beat Morgan in the first or second round sorry I can't remember which.

I guess the reason why he's been under the radar is his opening week loss to unranked Jacob Gentry from Rossville who lost to Austin Hernandez from Goodland, a .500 wrestler. Does Marc have any criteria over the ranked 4A wrestlers at 126?
Unfortunately he has not faced any of them this year. He hoped to see Cole at the Marion Duals but thier teams didn't meet up. He wrestled Bryce Morgan and Dustin Reed at club state last spring. He beat Morgan but was beaten by Reed. Because of the jump to 4a this year the teams schedule was set for primarily 321a competition.
The only like opponent I noticed without doing allot of research is Reed vs Hager 9-2. Reiss vs Hager 10-4

Hager is long and strong as I got to witness this past weekend. He appears to be a pretty solid wrestler too. I think a win against him warrants some consideration to be included on this list. Good luck the rest of the season.
I have watched Marc wrestle several times this year and last. very tough kid. super aggressive and one of those fun kids to watch. one of those kids that creates excitement and action. My son Tucker always comes and gets me when he is wrestling because we both enjoy watching him. verymuch surprised when Gentry beat him. i know most competition i have seen him wrestle, he does typically dominate. whether he can beat the ranked guys in his weight i am not sure, but i guarantee he would give it one hell uv a go.

Question. Eldorado has beaten Buhler head to head and in tournament, (Clearwater). How does Buhler rank above them
in the 4a rankings?

Beat them with three starters out of the line up at the tourney.
The team ranks are based on how the teams are set up for state, not the regular season. There is a difference when you can't take your whole team to state.

quit whining and just wrestle. rankings do not mean anything just wrestle the opponent that you have next. you want to be the best you have to beat the best.

It's a good question. The Class rankings are based on a tournament with 4A teams only. If you have individual input on 4A criteria, let me know. The team standings are based on the points arrived at from the current class ranking update.

I agree with adding Jason Zook at 285. Not your standard freshmen. I would say he is going to be good, but I think he is already there.

John Metcalf has beaten J Coates 9-6 at Eudora from Tong. and S. Hittle from Con. 7-1 in Rose Hill but lost to Howser from Col.5-4. Sometimes style makes a difference.
