No. He's entered in USAW Folkstyle Nationals tomorrow in Iowa.

Dane Edwards won in triple overtime, 2-1, over Brent Waterman (Maine). Waterman is a New England Champion and placed 7th in the NHSCA Junior bracket last year.

Thanks for the info Chief...My antivirus detected a virus/malware issue with that website. I'm steering clear of it...

Yes, it won't surprise me when people who are visiting this website start having people from their email address book report that they are being spammed. If this happens to you, change your email password, your Facebook password, web application passwords, etc and probably your usawks.com password right away and scan your PC with a good antivirus program.

We are trying to keep up with both tourneys on kcmetroclassic.com, with varying degrees of success, but pretty well. We have some pics that have been text from both sites and most of the results there. It has been fun and Kansas is doing great. Kudo's to Gary Ulmer, Randy Hinderlighter, Chief, Venegas, and all the others that I don't know that are doing the job that none of the rest of us take the time to do. Kansas is doing very very well today and I am proud of them as I am sure all of you out there are as well. Job well done and not yet finished!!

Michael Hughes (42-0) is the first state champion at Smithtown West High School since... former Univesity of Oklahoma head coach, Jack Spates won in 1970!
Finals start at 1:00 Central.
Wow. Calvin gets taken down with 2 seconds to go and loses 3-1. IMO Calvin deserved 2 earlier but it was not awarded.
Awesome effort from our National runner-up, Calvin Ochs!

Congrats to Calvin Ochs on the runner up at senior nationals... #2 in the national senior class. State championship, Rocky Mountain nationals champion and nhsca senior nationals runner up... Not bad for a guy from a small town western Kansas town.

Agreed Alex. From a Facebook post of mine yesterday...
"For those of you that support him, but don't know that much about the sport I want to point out to you what Calvin Ochs has already accomplished. Kendrick Maple (OU) won a division I national championship this year. Tyler Caldwell (OSU) finished third behind the match of the century, Dake and Taylor. NEITHER of those Kansas wrestlers made it to the Senior High School National finals. They both finished third.
He is the 14th Kansan to make it to the finals in the 23 years of the tournament. Only two from the NWKL have... Scott Urban and Kelly Gabel. If he were to win it tomorrow he'd be the only one from the NWKL, and only the 8th in all of Kansas to accomplish that."
